Arctic Fundraiser
4th July 2025
Thank you to everyone for donated to our Eco fundraiser in July. We managed to raise £88.35 this year which was wonderful. The children want to adopt a polar with part of the money and then the rest will go towards other eco projects next academic year.
Bee Good Competition
Eco club, Eco committee and Gardening club teamed up to enter a garden competition run by Rural Community Council of Essex. We designed and made multiple flowers beds around the school to support wildlife especially insects. We have also protected minibeast habitats by sectioning parts of the school, when we find new habitats have been established. For example, the miner bees came back this year and we have a stag beetle habitat onsite.
All of this hard work earned us 'Runners Up' in the competition. We are so proud!
Spring Pickers
Thank you to everyone who took part in Spring Pickers this year! We collected over 250 pieces of litter in our local area in only 10 days.
Our Eco-Committee:
We have such enthusiastic an enthusiastic Eco-committee here at Alresford. It is great to see how enthusiastic our school is about being 'greener' and helping the environment!
We have 19 members in total this year - children from each class from Year 2 to year 6.
We meet regularly to discuss ideas and our Action Plan as we work towards maintaining Eco-School status.
We also have an Eco club that includes more of our school community and meets on Mondays after school.
Please let them know if you have any ideas or resources as we would love to include everyone in our projects.
We will keep you updated of our progress. Below you can find our Action Plan and Newsletters.
